For 2023, this large family-sized SUV offers all-new features and technology that are bound to attract those looking for something safe, reliable, and tech-rich for their family. The 2023 Chevy Suburban manages to improve in a number of areas that easily make it one of the top competitive entries in its segment.

New for the 2023 model year is the inclusion of Super Cruise hands-free driving assisted technology for the Premier and High Country trims. You'll be able to drive comfortably and safely along over 200,000 miles of roads across North America while relying on the Chevy safety suite to guide you securely to your destination. In addition to the availability of Super Cruise, the Suburban has also been on the receiving end of three brand new exterior colors, which include Radiant Red Tintcoat, Silver Sage Metallic, and Sterling Gray Metallic.

    Three Powertrain Options

Performance for the 2023 Chevy Suburban is marked by three different powertrain options, giving drivers different levels of propulsion during travels. If you need something basic to get you to and from your destination, you have the standard 5.3-liter V8 with dynamic fuel management and variable valve timing to ensure that you're getting the most out of your travels while using as little fuel as possible. You can expect to take advantage of 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque with the 5.3-liter V8 in the Suburban, put down through a 10-speed automatic transmission.

If the 5.3-liter V8 just doesn't offer you enough performance for what you expect out of a large-scale SUV, perhaps the available 6.2-liter V8 will be more to your liking? Also featuring dynamic fuel management and variable valve timing, the 6.2-liter V8 gives more horsepower and torque to work with while on the road. You can expect 420 horses with 460 lb-ft of torque, all put down through a 10-speed automatic.

For those of you looking for a tow-heavy SUV, you can get the most out of the 2023 Chevy Suburban with the available 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder Duramax turbo-diesel. The always-reliable Duramax will net you less horsepower but more lower-end torque, at 277 horses and 460 lb-ft of torque. Like its powertrain siblings, you also have access to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

    Performance Features

With the availability of magnetic ride control with electronically controlled dynamic damping and adaptive air ride suspension, you get a smooth ride where the height of the vehicle can be adjusted according to the driving conditions and road surface. This means that the vehicle maintains as smooth a ride as possible no matter where you're traveling to or what sort of terrain you are driving across. The Suburban is also available in either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

For those who want the extra performance out of the Suburban, there is the availability of additional performance upgrades. Some of the upgrades include dual-outlet exhaust, a cat-back performance exhaust system, and an electronic limited-slip differential for improved traction. If you plan on putting your Suburban through treacherous driving conditions, an enhanced cooling radiator is available, which works hand in hand with the inclusion of both an external auxiliary transmission oil cooler and an external engine oil cooler.

    Maximum Utility

One of the big selling points of the 2023 Chevy Suburban is its interior cabin space and towing capabilities. This makes it both a great daily family vehicle for those who need all of the extra seating for kids and pets, as well as those who want a great vacation vehicle that can handle traveling across different elevations and surfaces. In fact, the Suburban can tow an impressive 8,300 lbs when equipped with the trailering package. It makes it a great utility vehicle all the way around.

Inside, you can make use of three rows that seat up to nine people, with a payload capacity of nearly 2,000 pounds. Behind the third row, you can store up to 41.5 cu.ft. of cargo, giving you plenty of room to keep your goods, groceries, tools, and more. If you need to make use of more of the Suburban's interior, you can fold down the third-row seats and utilize up to 93.8 cu.ft. of cargo space, giving you additional storage within the cabin. And finally, if you need a maximum amount of room for large items, materials, or miscellaneous gear, you can fold down the second and third rows to make use of up to 144.7 cu.ft. of cargo volume, making it one of the roomiest large-scale, family-sized SUVs within its segment.

    Cabin Comfort

The space doesn't come at the expense of comfort, though. You can make full use of the available 12-way power driver and front passenger seats with passenger and driver lumbar support. With the standard inclusion of a cargo management system in the cargo hold and an available collapsible cargo area organizer, you have a lot of convenience when it comes to the interior of the Suburban. With carpeted floor mats, a console-mounted safe, and available leather-appointed seating, there are a lot of different ways to relax and enjoy the ride in the Suburban while lacking nothing in the utilitarian department.

  • Technology

    Safety Features

At the forefront of the Suburban's interior tech offerings is safety, above and beyond all else. In a family-oriented SUV, you want to make sure that everyone inside has their safety well regarded. With seven airbags throughout the cabin, a LATCH system for securing anchoring car seats, a safety alert seat, and OnStar Connected Service support, your safety and security are a top priority within the 2023 Chevy Suburban.

Additional safety features made standard thanks to the Chevy Safety Assist system include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian braking, collision alert, and lane assists. And with standard Teen Driver, parents can always trust that their teen is driving safely with the automated safety checklists and report cards generated by the Teen Driver mode.

    Entertainment Features

Thanks to the Chevrolet Infotainment System, you have access to Bluetooth wireless connectivity, voice-activated controls, steering-wheel-mounted media controls, and wireless integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There's even wireless charging so that you can keep your devices charged without ever having to plug them in. Additional tech features include SiriusXM Satellite Radio with 360L and even the ability to make use of 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, so you can stay connected on the road, perfect for those long trips where the kids might get restless. Beyond that, there is also tri-zone automatic climate control, a universal home remote, and USB data ports both in the front and rear of the cabin. This makes the Suburban an all-around great family vehicle that is safe, secure, performance-heavy, and tech-ready for any on-road or off-road excursion.
